indeed. we had bottom markers galore. negative articles in the non-financial press, the Denver gold conference seeing its smallest attendance numbers ever, and sentiment there being best described as funeral-like.

HM's chairman said at the conference he doesn't dare predict a higher gold price anymore, as the market has humbled him into silence.

also, note the double non-confirmations of gold and the XAU last year and this year - first gold made a new low while the XAU did not, and now vice versa.

speaking of bears..... isn't the gold bear market perhaps a better picture of what the current equities bear may look like than using Japan's.....

any thoughts....thanks in advance.
