In the sense that it is beyond the ability of most people (including myself) to have an independent opinion about a technology or the stocks associated with it. And I think most people will have to rely on something other than their own resources to make decisions. Unless you go to a pure TA approach. In which case reading tea leaves would be just as effective. So are analysts opinions a contrary indicator ? I can answer that about trucks or oil, but about optical ??? I have no idea. Good luck. At least in my case, any results for this type of investments would be determined purely by luck.
