The truth is that Jesse Jackson speaks for the vast majority of African-Americans in this country.

I don't doubt this is true at present. No one else is heard as yet. But Bush by elevating other more moderate and temperate voices in the black leadership may be able to make some progress here.

I wish Professor Walter Williams or Alan Keyes received more play. Both are more suitable role models than Jesse Jackson.

Perhaps Bush didn't garner more black votes because of the highly distasteful political ad which basically said that Bush was responsible for the Jasper death. Funny that. Bush was Willie Horton'ed.
