Somehow I knew the religious divisions would arise if I failed to amplify on that statement.. <VBG>

I was going to discuss the various charters that were granted to religious sects by the British Crown, and how this laid the basis for the conflicts and arguments between the various colonies, but I thought you guys would cut me some slack since I'm already too long-winded... :0)

But yes, Robert, you're absolutely correct.

But should I go into the additional unifying perspective of our founding fathers, namely Masonry? (George Washington was a master mason and headed the Alexandria, VA Lodge after he left the Presidency). And in fact, there is a Masonic memorial here in the DC area which bears his name.

And everyone talks about the role other religions played in the development of our nation and constitution, but they seem to consistently avoid discussing the common ties that bound our FFs through Masonic heritage.

Regards,

Ron
