I don't want you to feel bad, but I don't think that was a compliment.
You'd think that almost losing me would have softened Dan's feelings, but I just heard him talking to himself in the kitchen, "You are a piece of work," he said.
I called out, Who? and he said, "You are".
And he didn't explain.
And I didn't ask.
