We will need consensus, planning, and a continental policy. Does anybody seriously believe the market can give us these things?
Of course not, but the free market maniacs will continue to insist that it is the only solution. They are just as bone-headed as the ideologues of the Kremlin in 1980, but in their own eccentrically dogmatic fashion.

OTOH, I wish I could transport everyone back to the winter of 1973.
