Price of Gold has been Manipulated

Coming from a person whose IQ scores have been upwardly handicapped by double digits, I can see why you have this perception.

it was Mr Churchill's "gold standard",

that every single London Gold Fixing
between 1919 and 1925 was on its face...
... the British Gold Standard Index.

Funny how Mr. Tiaga forgot to mention that Churchill admitted to screwing up by trying to refix the pound sterling against gold at the pre-WWI price.

".... he would grasp the magnitude of his error in putting England back on the gold standard. Writing Grigg on July 2, 1928, he dealt savagely with the financial experts who had urged him to do it: "They have caused an immense amount of misery and impoverishment by their rough and pedantic handling of the problem. In ruined homes, in demoralised workmen, in discouraged industry, in embarrassed finances, in inflated debt and cruel taxation we have paid the price" (The Last Lion, Vol I, Pg. 808)

By refixing the pound to the pre-war price of gold, he effectively set into motion a defacto reduction of the money supply, making the pound inordinately strong against foreign currencies, which resulted in British goods being more expensive that those from other nations, and correspondingly high unemployment rates as business activity decreased.

Btw, Dougie... Doe Bill Murphy pay you to wag your verbal "pom-poms" around extolling his mythical qualities?

He should...
