Limtex, anything is possible but I wouldn't count on a rate reduction from the Fed any time soon. However many friends the Fed might make in the process, the eventual depression that could result is too much for mortal men to ponder.

To keep the U.S. bond market alive, the U.S. 'must' maintain competitive rates within the world market. Otherwise, foreigners would sell our bonds ... driving prices down and actual interest rates up even higher than they would have been if the Fed had acted to maintain a more elevated U.S. interest rate structure from the start.

In other words, as private investors we either lose ... or we lose.
