I rather suspect that the boards just became a complete embarrassment. The censorship going on there is/was pretty well known. Censoring a public discussion board like that is an amazingly stupid thing to do. I still cannot believe that a bright guy like Brinker would exercise such horrible judgement as to do it. I'm still shaking my head that he would stoop to such methods to silence the critics. It just doesn't work. In fact, it's guaranteed to backfire, making the censor look impotent and desperate. And gutless. The whole discussion board boondoggle just reflected so badly on Brinker that he just shut it down, imo.
