Ken,

I read all that but I still think their numbers will look fairly good. They have a small float which means with $5/share in cash buying back a million shares will help. The reason they grabbed my attention is that many of the circuit board makers are hitting the wall at the same time but these guys are still going to be making good money. They will also be the first sector to show improvement when the tech area picks up. Nothing is made without circuit boards. I bet you would see their stocks bounce back first so depending on whether you think we are headed into a recession or not would help make the decision if they are worth buying. I still don't think they have much downside even if they earn only 1.5-2/share next year.

Ken,

I keep looking at MTIC. I caught this on the message board.

messages.yahoo.com

For all I know it could be shorts playing games but if true could make a difference short term. FWIW.

Ken W, sold my TX at 60 (bought at 59) and due to commissions at a slight loss. It hasn't been performing. Could be used as a trading stock for a point or more scalp.
In the short term oil prices will probably go up due to OPEC oil production cuts. The slowdown in the US economy will slow oil demand. How much depends on what happens. The key question is still how fast is the economy slowing down.
I'm still leary of tech stocks in general right now with slowing growth for most for at least the next 3-6 months. I believe the PC market has matured and is near saturation.
Most people have PCs and don't have any urgency to upgrade to a new one. In 1999 I upgraded our PC's memory and upgraded the hard drive from 2 to 10 gig. That should hold us for awhile.
The Fed rate cut will help but impact is estimated to be primarily in the 6-18 month range. Should help the credit market.
