Ruffian,

Rosedeng did quote the article correctly - especially the last paragraph. I found the original article on ZTE's website.

I hope the reference to China Telecom is real, not just rhetoric. On the other hand, I seriously doubt that ZTE could take the liberty of implicating China Telecom if the latter is not involved in Z's effort of producing the "split-card" handsets based on CDMA.

Very good news indeed!

ZXC10 awarded CDMA network entry certificate by MII

On December 9, 2000, ZXC10 CDMA mobile communication system was firstly awarded network entry certificate by Chinese MII (Ministry of Information Industry). The system includes ZXC10-BTS (base station transceiver), ZXC10-BSC (base station controller), ZXC10-MSC/VLR (mobile switching center / visitor location register) and ZXC10-HLR/AUC (home location register / authentication center).

In June 2000, ZTE put forward the first China-made CDMA mobile communication system, and then put forward the first world-made CDMA UIM handset in October. Thus, ZTE Corporation has been the only manufacturer in China providing complete set of CDMA system and terminal product.

ZXC10 also realizes full compatibility with the equipment of the same kind. ZXC10-MSS CDMA switching subsystem realizes the compatibility with CDMA BSS of Ericsson (China) and Guangdong Nortel. ZXC10-BSS CDMA base station subsystem realizes the compatibility with CDMA MSS of Datang.

ZTE802, the first CDMA UIM handset in the world, has passed communication test on Great Wall Network (CDMA network) of Shanghai, Beijing and Xi’an, Huchison CDMA network of Hong Kong and SKT mobile communication network of Korea.
