Zeev;

Purchasing dot com companies is understandable. But what about all of the investors who purchased JDSU, MSFT, CIEN, BRCM, CSCO, SUNW, etc., at the wrong time. Actually, its not difficult to put together a portfolio of blue chip techs purchased at the wrong time in the cycle and get clobbered almost as bad. The only safe place has been cash. I know a few people that switched from dot.coms into these stocks at the peak price thinking they were safer. wrong!

ZH - YYYes overcpacity in auto production world wide but auto sales in the US?

How about John Conner? Can we agree that that MSFT is a very good world wide barometer today?

And generally the World economy, can we agree that there has been a sudden and big drop off in business?

THe US economy noe occupies over 30% of the World economy and in any event it is the focus of markets. The Euopean markets don't really do anythign much in the mornings they, they wait until afternoon and follow the US direction. Most serious tech companies get listed on the NAZ.

What Mr G does is nothing less than direct the World economy's direction. He eoither encourages it or he discourages it.

6.5% interest rates are a very big discouragement in the face of benign inflation.

Best regards,

L

"I would not exclude the possibility that my estimate is too high and actually see SNDK sell at a low premium of 50% to book at the nadir of this retrenchment. Many companies are already selling under book."

If you put a reasonable value on SNDK patents, most of which carry NO VALUE on the books, then SNDK is already selling below book value.
