The fact is the ECB required all three of the major central banks, working in concert, to defend the currency... as they did several months ago.

As has the dollar many times over the years. The fact is that the ECB has talked the Euro down virtually since its inception. Anyway, I was talking about Europe, not the Euro. Europe's structural differences have been around for 50 years, and DID NOT result in lowered currencies. The Euro has declined for the past few years due to short-term momentum trading. As soon as the speculators backs are broken, we will return to business as usual.
