Poet, It looks like the NAZ is building a base at this level and writing covered calls on the Cubes should be a good strategy once again. I revisited the strategy last week and positioned QQQ @ 55 11/16 on a decent market day and wrote Jan 56 QQQAD @ 5.75 when the Cubes climbed to 58 for 11% return for the month. I added more Cubes this AM @ 60. The Jan 60's QQQAH are @ 4.5 (7.5%) The NAZ seems to be in a good mood this AM and if a rally sets in I should be able to write the Jan 60's @ 6 (10%)if QQQ hits 62.5. For all this to happen the NAZ needs to be up about 70 points. Each point on the Cubes is about 40 NAZ points but if not I will settle for less. Eight percent for the month wouldn't be that bad after all. If you think the NAZ will be at this level or higher in Jan this makes sense. If the market gets destroyed there are repair strategies. cdaisey@income-strategy.com

Hey Poet & thread. I'm back. Yeah, I talked to my cousins in St. Louis on Christmas & they said it was 2 degrees or something ridiculous. Even though it seems too warm to really be Christmas out here sometimes (having grown up in New England and St. Louis) I guess I gotta be grateful for our temperate climate. Actually it was just cool enough to simulate a real winter for me out here. Sorry about the whipsaws. Yuck. Yeah, I'm not sure yet what will look safe to me, but still waiting for something clearer.
