One point about civil wars in regard to whether WWII counts as a European Civil War. Civil Wars and Revolutions are fought to enforce or break political unions. The two world wars do not meet this requirement because they were not in reference to a preexisting political entity. Since the discussion was regarding the EU in order to qualify as a Civil War the conflict would need to be in order to enforce or break the EU. This is more than a semantic issue. The two world wars were indeed important in creating an environment more receptive to political union. But once that union has been created it still needs to be tested. A military test is probably very unlikely but some sort of political civil war is certainly possible. Btw I'm not forecasting that, just following the hypotheses :)

Does Esperantu include some African languages from the Bantu people.

Hmmm... I always seem to have that problem of codeswitching between English and Czech....

But you're correct in pointing out the English spelling is Esperanto. But now you know the Czech spelling is with a "u".. <VBG>

And I think we'll have to just agree to disagree with regard to our definition of "civil war".

The only time the US invaded Canada, the US suffered its first ignominious defeat.

BTW2 I played a neat game on Christmas day called "MOOT". The players all six of us played

Which makes it all the sweeter to know that the Canucks will tear themselves apart. It means that we imperialist Americans will be that much closer to hemispheric hegemony without having to fire a shot.

Ron
