Man alone is capable of any wickedness.

Well, for those who might subscribe to such a belief, I would only ask them why nature has instinctively driven cats to play with their prey before they eat it (if they actually do).

Some folks find it easy to denigrate mankind in comparison with other life on this planet, somehow believing that nature is benevolent, kind, and loving, the source of all that is good.

Yeah.. it's easy to wallow in self-hate when you're the only rational species capable of such a contemplation.

But while you're searching for answer insert the word "good" in exchange for evil or wickedness and you'll see that the assertion is just as valid. And to be rhetorical, how would we know good unless it were contrasted with evil, and vice versa?

Good and Evil are nothing more than the end result of man's will imposed on his environment, as well as one another.

And the sources of those acts of will are the particular belief systems that man chooses to adopt and follow.

Good luck with your son... I'm sure he will understand how important it is to choose to do good rather than evil.
