I don't, and I don't care, but I am familiar with his style through his posts on the Cisco thread. Perhaps you should invite him to join you on the Critical Investing Workshop. He has perfect credentials to be a Type 3 Critic (one who tends to make harsh or carping judgments; a faultfinder), just as you do.

Sorry, Tom, I didn't realize you were posting to me from the Workshop. In case you missed it, here's Chic's story in his own words.

Please excuse my intrusion on your Workshop.

How the heck did you know Chic Hearne's net worth ? I was impressed with that bit of detective work. I also looked at his profile but failed to find his net worth in it ?

To set the record straight....

I just chose not to argue with him, I didn't say he was right.

Anyways, it started with him posting this to me:

From your own posts and profile, you are 23 years old, just graduated from college this year, and began investing with a few thousand bucks that your uncle gifted you so you could learn about the market. Shorting 700 shares of csco requires margin in the range of $28,000. Even if you got a good job, I doubt you could have saved that much in 6 months. Are you gilding the lilly, did you put the touch on Unc again, or are you trading your parent's account?

I responded with this:

You brought this up so I have to defend myself, otherwise I wouldn't be talking numbers. I sometimes speak vaguely of what I have, but I think everyone is best off if they just keep it to themselves. If you think I'm full of shit, start at the AMD thread the day I joined and look at what I bought and the historical prices. I also posted when I got out. Had a bad stretch then for about two months. I've been on a tear lately, almost everything going my way. It's all hear on SI if you have the time to read through all 3700 posts I've made. I could care less.

I left it at that. I felt no need to argue, I told him where to go, he didn't. I didn't care, so I just watched as they seemed to pat themselves on the back.

Like I said, first post on SI:

I posted most of my exits on the amd thread, but I'm not going to take the time to look them up. Just look at the chart from that time and you can tell how I did.

Like I said, next was a bad stretch. Plenty of posts on SI to back that up.

Been on a tear lately:

Ironically, this is what I said in the bearish post he linked from Sunday Nov. 19th:

IMVHO, now is the time for preservation of capital.

I think at this point, preservation of capital should be key. Therefore I'm going 80-90% cash overnight every night. I am smart enough to understand that my gains earlier this year were LUCK and not skill. I was trading recklessly and just got plain lucky a few times.

Note, Friday Nov 17th Naz close of 3044 - chart.yahoo.com

Of course, all this just proves nothing. I've met about 10 people from the AMD thread over the summer, but what does that prove? Kind of why I didn't argue much in the first place...
