I have now taken my profits on XTO. Thanks, Slider, for bringing this one to my attention some 10 to 12 month ago. Loaded the boat at around ten, before the split, and just held and held. By the way, I just wanted to take this moment to thank all the contributors to this thread over the past 3 years. It has not only been an education, but it has also been like reading a novel. Cannot decide if it was Peyton Place, or kick my friend's butt cause he/she got my anxiety level too high. Still, it has been a great education.

Got biotech? <GGG>

Once again, thanks to Slider and the rest of the regulars.

Slider: SIL, $8.38 looks like a lowly worm here. Talk about a laggard... Interesting to note that with the energy scare out west, the alternative energy stocks are doing nada. PLUG $150 to $13.

Slider,

Without doing any research, I would think most on the list grew through acquisitions. The ones I believe grew through the drill bit are: CRZO, ESNJ, CWEI, TLM, PQUE, PENG, PPP, NFX, BELW, ROIL and DNR.

That's 11 out of 23. Anyone have any additions or deletions?

Lot's of 52 week highs today: TMR, LD, MHR, KP, APA, SEI, CRK, THX, OXY, MND, PXD, EOG, COG and PTEN.

I wouldn't short yet, but there will come a day sometime soon. The average E & P stock was up 3.3% today after a record day yesterday. Lots of E & P stocks are near the "exit multiples" which comes in the final stage of the cycle. TMBR, APC, FST, BRR and BEXP all selling between 9 and 10 times record cash flow. PENG at 13X, ESNJ at 18X and EEE at 20X. More downside than upside in that group.

If you want to play the E & P's all the way, I would be using very tight stops.

Jim

slider, perhaps you can clarify something for me - my broker doesn't seem to be able to... i purchased some franco nevada thru msdw, but since they can't trade the toronto exc. i got it as a bb stock, fnmcf. i don't like the lack of liquidity in bb stocks but seemed to have no alternative. this issue gets traded about every three weeks apparently - very thin. do you have any idea of the relationship of the bb issue to the toronto-traded issue?

like your commentary a lot. have heeded your words of caution and am out of n.g. for the moment with about 25% upside. i'm not able to brag about getting 300% o'noc, so i have to settle for less flashy returns. thanks, don
