Aus; I read an interesting article on Microsoft.Net and Flash Memory stocks in the latest Red Herring magazine (Issue 88); unfortunately, the latest magazine doesn't appear to be online on redherring.com yet.

They site that flash-memory stocks stand to benefit by the MSFT initiative; as Microsoft.Net will 'enable all users to synchronize applications and data with Internet applicances, most of which use flash memory;'

The article specifically mentions SNDK as the market leader in flash memory; and also mentions the Virgina foundry in partnership with Toshiba to meet growing flash demand. Lastly, they quoted 'this ramp up on the supply side (Virginia foundry), coupled with .Net on the demand side, makes SNDK a timely value...'.

They also mention SSTI and FLSH as potential winners in this .Net initiative.

My early understanding of the .Net initiative is that all Microsoft code in this area is still very early; and that full redevelopment of the Windows OS into some web-based OS is not nearly code right now; and no plans are in place for production .Net code in 2001. I did see that Microsoft did have a Visual Studio.Net download on their site; although I didn't look too deeply into that.
