Yesterday AT&T closed at 16 15/16 ... you have to go all the way back to March 18, 1991 to find a closing of 16 15/16 for old Ma Bell. Yesterday LUCENT closed at 13 1/8 ... you have to go all the way back to April 15, 1997 to find a comparable closing price ... back then on TAX DAY it closed at 13 1/32. Yesterday AVAYA closed at 10 7/16 which seems to be its low since its inception a few months back. Just what does this day ... the last trading day of the year 2000 hold for these stocks? Will LUCY go down just a bit more for those trying to lock in losses to offset gains in 2000, if that is what is going on at this point, or ??????????????.......ANON
