I guess that is what is amazing to me - that exln couldn't keep growing B2B revenues off such a small base.

Keith, I don't want to sound like I'm being sarcatic or hubristic, but the thing that has amazed me all along was that so many people had blind faith that the B2B would take off in a huge way.

This company has wonderful technology, but I really think the whole corporate strategy and in particular the sales & marketing strategy could really do with some re-examination.

The company deliberately shrunk its main business (ODBMS) and I find that utterly incomprehensible. The outcome we have just seen was exactly what the company planned for -- except that the "B2B miracle" didn't happen. Apart from that, the company has been actively trying to shrink the ODBMS revenue base so far as I can tell.

Object Design sales guys always included the phrase "the fastest growing database company in the world" in their pitches.

New corporate slogan: "Honey I shrunk the company".
