Oblomov, I lived in CA, ME, NH, and MA while in the USA. Liked NH the most (MA the least -g-). They don't know what cold is here. A really bad cold day is zero degrees C. Of course the moisture in the air does give it some bite. Just been reading this at the Chatham web site... I think there is a lot of truth in it. Mobile telephones are a license to steal money from poor folks. And I'm one of the guilty theives -g- The pro Chatham Girl will always be carrying a Mobile Phone. She will have either received it as a gift for her 12th birthday, Christmas or will have bought it from an ad in the Sun. She will use it at every possible opportunity to enable her to run up the most enormous phone bill which she can then brag to her mates about. She will use the phone at the most inopportune times, such as ringing her mate to tell her she's standing outside her house instead of using the doorbell. The main reason for this is that she likes to people to think she's up with the age of technology. She will show absolutely no concern towards how much money it is costing her. The other use for mobiles is to 'text'. A clever ploy thought up by mobile phone companies to charge stupid people more money. The Chatham girl will text at least 15 people every day and will spend at least 2 hours playing with the buttons on her phone and laughing to herself, much to everyone else's annoyance. She will eventually be cut off for non-payment of bill and will promptly buy another and do the same again. When that fails, she will get someone else to buy it in their name and continue on.
