drew_m, General Powell was not among GWB's first appointments. Although the possibility of a Powell appointment was hinted at in the news weeks ago, that selection and Mr. Powell's formal acceptance did not come until today. There were many people in this country who urged General Powell to run for the Presidency. His appointment and acceptance as Secretary of State should be widely viewed as a positive for the Bush administration. Craig
