Subcomandante Marcos has written a children's book? How lovely. That will likely be a collector's item one day.

It seems proper that a private foundation funded its publishing. Government funding of art should be discouraged. After all, do we want "official government art"? Think of the monstrous regimes of this century, they all had Ministries of Culture that oversaw the arts.

Also, when government funds the arts, it leads to censorship. If two applicants apply but only one is granted funds, on what basis was the other guy shot down? It seems rather arbitrary to grant one applicant money and deny someone else, in effect censoring that person.
