Positive. How else do they keep track of long vs. short term holds? They may not hold your hand when you fill out the Sch D., but you can be sure they will scrape it up at audit time.

I agree with the strategy, I felt that's why November was rough because people were selling then and now want back in before the year end when J6P is scrambling to unload his shares. Perhaps this strategy will be best served now for next years taxes...buy em now, dump em in 30 days, voila!! You're already set up for 2001!
