The SOX index rose some 23 points, having posted a double bottom around 530 in late November and then again one week ago. ??

when you have the feeling it's a panic, you should wait and see and not panic with the herd. i admit i'm uncertain about January myself for reasons cited before. but i think we have lots of complacency inducing parameters developing, and that doesn't bode well imo. i'm referring to the internals getting better mainly. in reaction to this we have for instance Rydex ratios plunging back to recent lows, so in short everybody's looking up. they're an excellent microcosm of the broad market sentiment picture.
