Frank,

From a trading perspective, it's a good idea to sell the day before the stock is added to the S&P (the date hasn't been announced yet). The funds will be forced to buy that day, the current move up is in anticipation of that. Usually, stocks lose a lot of their run up after that date.

But if you are LTB&H it's also nice, the same number of shares but more holders isn't a bad thing.
