My history books all submit evidence, including the very words spoken by the framers of the Confederacy. I have seen no pro-Confederate here submit evidence that the Confederacy was correct and American in its moral and philosophical position.

The beliefs of Confederate leaders logically disallow the Confederacy's public honour via American tax dollars. We may logically support the history the Confederacy, but not its honour. By virtue of the rights preserved by Union soldiers on he battlefield, everyone may fly a Confederate flag. But he can only do this logically with his own dang money.

The Confederacy was a separate government, directly hostile fundamental American philosophy. For that, no real American can demand its public support and honour.
