I've seen/used what TRGA was offering.

They let you pick what types of compounds you like and you get to pick plates, but not individual compounds(this was about 1 year ago).

Quality is about what one would expect for libraries of compounds~50%-90%.

What they are offering is a great way to expand your in-house program and look at something new at about 1/10th the cost to prepare and 1/1000th of the time.

I think that there is real value in it, but I don't see how all you can do is make compounds and sell them. You have to have some type of biology to go along with it and funding for both, independent of sharing your diversity. Otherwise, your going to be chased out of the office after I get your cheesy flyer about all the compounds you got.

In the combichem arena, I would like to see some of the companies making building blocks grow up and become public. I think this is going to be big business soon. There are alot of custom synthesis people out there that in some ways smoke the likes of SIAL because they have stuff that is a little harder to make and a little more specific for your target.
