Just off-hand do you know the answer to this: (Which I have a feeling this varies by policy and state law.)

If you're executed for a capital crime, will your life insurance co. (on a whole life paid-up policy) pay off?

McDermott will not likely see the death penalty on these murders. I heard on network news he was under psychiatric care prior to the shootings.

If IRS gets anything it will be through lien and seizure.

Should he lose an insanity plea or die in prison and has a whole life paid-up insurance policy and the company pays off, IRS may have to battle the named beneficiaries.
