Henry Hub Dec Natgas Down 19-42c on Decreasing Demand

Dec. 28-MAR--

By Gloria Gonzalez, BridgeNews
New York--Dec. 28--December natural gas for Henry Hub next day
delivery is trading at $9.23 to $9.24, down 19 to 42 cents from Thursday's
$9.42 to $9.66 range amid decreasing demand for physical natural gas with
some moderation in temperatures expected for the rest of this week.

At 1047 ET, NYMEX Feb Henry Hub natural gas futures were down 12.6
cents at $9.160 per MMBtu in thin, pre-holiday trade.
The Hub had been trading about 30 to 40 cents above the spot month Jan
contract last week amid strong demand for physical natural gas due to cold
weather in the Midwest, but industrial demand has eased this week due to
the holidays and record high natural gas prices.
"I expected it," one cash trader said. "This thing needed to come
off."
Cold air will affect much of the great Plains and Midwest this weekend
and early next week, but temperatures should moderate toward more normal
readings toward the end of next week. Heating fuel demands will continue
to be higher than usual through the middle of next week. Above-average
temperatures will continue throughout the western states into next week.
