Re: Its the same one they write at the beginning of every processor transition.

I don't think they've ever faced competition quite this strong. And the latest P4, on expensive dual channel motherboards, doesn't run mainstream software as well as the trailing edge of the competition. AMD has a major new core revision about to come out - P4 has trouble competing against the old stuff.

Meanwhile they had to give VIA a license to the 370 socket to distract VIA from supporting AMD's Socket A. That was helpful this quarter when AMD was left with nothing but expensive motherboards for its products, but now Intel faces competition for their 370 sockets from VIA.

Intel is going into 2001 with a second front just opened in the processor war. At the same time AMD now has lower motherboard costs and a major new stepping of its processor. Dresden is ramping up and who knows, someday AMD might just ship SMP and/or mobile Athlons.

Can't anybody say one fu$$ing good thing about this company? I swear to God it has been months since I have heard one #$% #$%#@ positive thing. If it weren't for this company there would be no damn computer industry at all and without that foundation where would every other tech company be?

Maybe they should shut down for 6 months and then lets see what happens to this economy...fucking dic% faced a$$holes.
