I played a new game on Christmas Day, Word Thief. Like Scrabble in that you make up words. The letters are on playing cards, you are dealt 7. You need a good sized table to play as you place words up in front of you. The difference is that any player on their turn can "take" your word if they use the letters with at least one other letter from their hand. You give back your points scored for the letters, but not bonuses, to the bank, who of course gives the points to the player who took the word. Advantage one game lasts about 45 minutes. You get bonuses for 5,6 and 7 letter words plus 20 more if you can use all your letters. I found it more fun than just plain Scrabble.
