O/T - Kona is beautiful! The diving is great, too. Underwater lava formations are just as magnificent as Carribean coral, and there are lots of sea turtles, too. Highly recommended.

Very OT/Excardog. That sounds great. If you're a coffee drinker...

be sure to pick up a few bags of Kona beans. Much cheaper in Hawaii than the $25/IB we pay in most of the mid-West. It's good coffee.

I agree with Razorback - the scuba diving at Kona is excellent. I certified there in 93. There are underwater lava tubes you can explore if you are certified (watch out for sharks inside) and there is a national fish preserve near an offshore island called molokai, molokini, or something like that.

If there haven't been any recent storms underwater visibility can be up to a quarter mile. It's incredible.

Also recommend you look into the horseback riding at the stables south of the city. Very enjoyable.
