QS, I bet you that the report is about the US corporate market...

Yes it is, but man, it's coming from all over the place. I just saw #1-ranked analyst Kimberly Alexy from Prudential on CNBS singing the same exact tune: oops, DELL and IBM down the tubes because of cutbacks in IT spending due to slowing economy. Cut IBM estimates, cut rating to 'Hold'. PC's dead, cut DELL estimates, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Then I just got this from the daily DJ e-mail service that they send out to half the population of the US:

A cooling economy and a decline in consumer spending are making big businesses rethink their spending plans for information technology. Forecasts for next year predict modest investments in computers and software.

Rat-a-tat rat-a-tat, like a drumbeat, over and over, coming from everywhere. I know it's a slow news week compared to all of November, but this stinks of manipulation to me.
