Maybe-but something is a little different with this electorate imo. The economy was into a recovery in 1994 and the country saw blow them away elections against the Democrats. Tom Foley became the first Speaker ousted since 1840. Mario Como lost to a Republican in NY, and a Republican mayor took over NYC.
The deal is being a centrist AND absolutely do not raise taxes. In the last 20 years the country has moved closer to conservative messages as the Baby Boom got wealthy. Right now the Republicans control Governorships, state legislatures, Supreme Court, and all three branches. A 180% turn from 1979. I am an independent by the way.
