Breadth was awfully good for a modest up day.

I'm reminded of Jan. 98, when the Nasdaq retested the Oct. 97 lows before taking off. Does your scenario have room for a retest (and filling those pesky gaps from last Friday)?

Don, your index makes sense to me....i think we have a day and a half more (Friday, part of Monday) of "suspended animation" up trading for the Naz...and then back-to-reality (sell-off) after a "Happy New Year" time..will play the same stock up (SEBL, CIEN, EMC) as down...since I think I understand their trends..

Wish me luck! (I need it)...

I think that if the tone of US markets, and especialy the Nasdaq, improves, the US Dollar will also improve.

I think that the markets are leading the dollar in this particular time.

hi Don

my thinking is the same..

dip buying huh??<VBG>...

we are at resistance on all the indexs..but the pullback will be short lived..

small and mid caps will actually have a Jan effect for the 1st 10 days or so..

i am playing the expected bounce in these type of stocks...

hope everyone that lives, lurks and works here, has a better 2001...

my warmest regards to all for the coming New Year

Don your still the best..

regards

jerry
