Art!

<That's an interesting conjecture, but why wouldn't service providers like Vodafone be interested in at least getting a return from their gateways? Are you saying that the gateway owners are content to just sit on their assets and do nothing? Doesn't seem logical to me.>

If you were the SP and owner of the North America Gateways, and your regulatory approval.. And your Gateways were the only way to get traffic on/off the Globalstar constellation.. Would you sell your Gateways for a dime on the dollar?? The same goes for the Loralean Gateways, and the TESAM Gateways!!

Heck no.. Because if there was to be a Post-BK Globalstar.. Then they Gateway owners are sitting on little Gold Mines!!

They know that they hold the "enabling technology" to make the Globalstar constellation provide any value what so ever.. Why do you think the regulatory approvals for the Space Segment are designed the way they are.. Why didn't they have them assigned to Globalstar instead of L/Q Licensee..

Globalstar has absolutely ZERO VALUE IN BANKRUPTCY, within the confines of the current structure of Gateway ownership and Space/Ground Segment regulatory licenses.. I repeat ZERO!!!

Look at me.. Just a simple observer.. But, I would be willing to pony up $500,000 (and I am serious about this) for the un-installed Gateways.. But, I wouldn't give you a shinny dime for the space segment!! Because it has ZERO value without the Gateways, and Regulatory approval (and especially if I owned all the expansion capability by owning all the spare manufactured Gateways!!)

The Facts are outlined in the SEC statements!! Globalstar LP has NO REGULATORY APPROVALS!! No installed Gateway Ownership.. All that Globalstar LP has is 52 low earth satellites whose operational regulatory approval is held by another company.. That's it!! There is nothing there for the Bondholders.. NOTHING!! It has been designed to be this way from Day 1 in my opinion!!

Sorry, If I got carried away here!!

That's all there doing now, so why not?

Doesn't seem logical to me.

Me either, but the whole SP issue (VOD in particular, I guess) has been puzzling. That said, I disagree with pcstel's assessment.

I know pcstel has his theory on this, and certainly the stock price supports it, but I just don't see it the same way. I don't think Q* or LOR or any of the partners for that matter are trying to steal this system from the equity holders by BKing it. I think Maurice's view on this one is more correct - too much downside for all involved whether "pre-pack" or "structured" or straight BK. If this thing shows some life it'll get funded.
