OK- so what you are saying is that the Victorian Christmas existed in Colonial times. That beaucoup presents were exchanged- on Christmas morning, around the Christmas tree gaily bedecked with German blown glass ornaments and feather ornaments. That all the servants had their little gifts on Christmas. That merry Colonials passed out their Xmas cards willy nilly. That plum pudding was had by all, and egg nog imbibed merrily along with marzipan sweeties, and sugar plums. That candy canes bedecked Colonial houses as merry Colonial revelers caroled up and down dear little muddy Colonial streets. And cherubic little Colonials hung up their wee little stockings with visions of St Nick dancing in their wee little heads.

Yeah, JF- you've really got me there. Save for absolutely no evidence, why you're making an absolutely splendid argument. Do you do this often? Does it work?
