Tenchusatsu could it possibly had something to do with lower asps during slowdown and Mustangs higher costs? Regards -Albert

Re: AMD's failure to produce any platform above 2-way SMP is the real reason why Mustang was axed. This despite the fact that EV6 had the "potential" to reach 8-way SMP and above. Remember that promise back when Athlon was first released in 1999? Could be. Looks like Intel dodged a bullet there. How much longer do you think their luck will hold out? AMD didn't come out with an N-way chipset but isn't Alpha Processor expected to launch its 4x/8x chipset for Athlon this quarter? What will happen to the stock prices of the two companies when that piece of news hits? Dan
