Hi abstract,

My problem is a bit different than yours. I have an older pentuim 233 with a blazing 64 megs of RAM & a 2 gig hard drive that is almost full. Not exactly state of the art. After watching my niece play some awesome video games & burning her own CD's on her computer, I sort of felt like I was a wee bit behind.

I have an incentive to buy a new computer too. One week in Feb, PA state sales tax on computers & accessories will be waived.

Depending on how Mr Market & I get along in that time, will determine what level of upgrade I end up with. I certainly would like to upgrade to a P-IV with 128 megs of RMBS RDRAM. Right now DELL seems to have the best choices & prices.... but I'll be looking at local stores for Compaq (wife gets a special discount), IBM & Gateway too.

Good luck with your decision.

Ö¿Ö

Go with Dell they're so much more reliable.
