You got it. DJ was silly and obnoxious. I hotly defended one of his previous personas (bigsablepoint) when it was suspended. I publicly attacked TLC over that matter for his (incorrectly alleged) involvement. I like TLC. I consider him one of the most valuable members of the SI community. It takes a lot to get me to that point. But I value freedom of speech. A lot. And DJ has worn out his welcome. He is well known for stupid, inane, and vicious attacks. When answered in his own coin, he claims victimhood. And when all is said and done, he screwed himself. In creating his multiple persona, he lied on his membership application. He had to have. Because if SI really knew who he was, they would not have given him the multiple memberships. And lying on that application will get you bounced. Unconditionally. No excuses. Period. Game over.

Puh-leeze. DJD was terminated for misrepresenting to SI who he was on his application and mantaining multiple accounts as I recall. I know this because he proudly posted his termination notice on this thread or the Impeach Bush thread. These are SI no-no's and we are all familiar with them. DJD invited scrutiny by SI Admin as result of his often libelous and inflammatory postings. There's no First Amendment issue here. There's no "principle" involved here. JLA

I don't think he should have been suspended, whatever he did on his application. And I stated something to that effect publicly. But this is not the government. Freedom of speech applies not to private situations and that is something both liberals and conservatives apparently don't understand. When John Rocker got himself slapped by his bosses, conservatives were all in a row about it, angrily citing "Freedom of Speech." And they were as wrong can be. DJD was at the mercy of the SI gods. We all are. And should they determine certain of us detract from the ambiance of the place, then we are gone. And that is that. I don't agree with it (and said it), but I am not the authority here.

I haven't been following the thread much and didn't know DJD was ousted. I have been given the boot before, and deservedly so. My favorite line from a movie in 1998 was from "The Devil's Own." Brad Pitt's (IRA activist) Father was killed when Pitt was a small boy. Men broke into the house and shot his father in front of him while they were at the diner table. Pitt, now in America, as an adult, is telling the story to Harrison Ford (a New York City cop). Now for the famous line.... Ford: "Did they get the fkers?" Pitt: "They were the "fkers?" Well, I had a habit of applying this line to people on the SI threads who IMO were touting stocks disingenuously and I got slapped with a suspension for it. I was in good company. Several people who've posted here abouts have been awarded this honor. I didn't complain as I figure SI can do what ever they want within the guidelines they published. They have made the rules clear. I have done much worse to some of the clinton supporters like pezz, lizzy tudor, dipy and several others. Surprisingly none of them ever complained.
