Victor: There are parallels in past markets which cast doubt on the gold rising scenario -- I agree. But the last time we had anything like these conditions was ??? The dollar has been strong and the bull market in the US in tact for as long as most people on this thread have been in the market. A weak dollar, declining US equity markets, recession, a huge current account deficit and a huge postion by overseas investors -- this is a powerful combination. The gold markets are not that large and it won't take that much to trigger a move up. We will see. For now, the platinum and palladium are doing well. It was not that long ago that palladium was under 250 dollars and platinum was around the same price as gold. With palladium at 950 and the hydrogen fuel cell era just dawning, we could see more action in these metals. Good luck -- BTW, was the terrorsim thing sarcasm?
