glenn, what do you think of shopping for diamonds online?


It is not a viable model. The consumer wants to see the diamond. Showing what a retailer has on-line and providing the the opportunity to buy, is a good idea. However, the only way to sell any quantity on-line is with a 5% profit margin. Blue Niles is doing that now with the only intention in my opinion of going public based on revenue. They are losing lots of money. They also do not own the diamonds they sell.

It all cases the people email and ask to come into the store and see the diamonds. So a brick and click works but on-line selling of diamonds will never turn a profit in my opinion.
