In the last earnings call, which may still be available at NT's website, John Roth explicitly discussed the amount of vendor loans.

I don't have the precise numbers, but it struck me that no individual company got more than the gross margin on the products sold; and the aggregate was less than 3% of NT annual revenues even though the maximum loan commitment was based upon milestones being achieved prior to a loan; and covered a multiyear period.

As pointed out on this thread, many retailers make more profit form their financing activities than their basic business. It's about time the communications equipment providers tapped this earnings source.
