Good morning Porchies and all!!!

What a year!

Y2K.......the BIG SCARE...........millions, maybe BILLIONS spent on preparation. It was more like the BIG SCAM.......not a glitch to be found. And now...the REAL new millennium is upon us.........and no one is talkin about it.

Who'd a thunk it?

March sees the Nasdaq at 5048......fast forward to December..........Nasdaq 2400....... Gas prices up to nearly 2 bucks.

Al whats his name?<g>............oh yeah, Al Gore and George Dubya Bush battle it out over a TIE in the presidential election.........the president is decided in the courts.

Who'd a thunk it?

School shootings goin on all over the place. The media making it 10 times worse, IMHO.

One kid who became famous.........Elian Gonzales........ found floating at sea......lost his mother......had to endure the media and the US courts.

The famous Love Bug virus....and multitudes of copy cats. SOME people have WAY to much time on their hands.<g>

Several Airline crashes come to mind........Alaska Airlines...that one hit close to home. 2 local boys who owned the BIGGEST BADDEST yacht in the Sacramento area were killed on that crash.

Then theres the Concord crash. The poor souls onboard......... leaving for the "vacation of a lifetime" .

The Russian Submarine disaster.........there's a movie in that one for sure.

The year 2000 was not a good year for Firestone.<g> A good friend of mine who owns a local tire shop made out like a bandit though. In fact, he's still reaping the benefits from all the new tires ordered

Just some ramblings about the events of 2000.

Who'd a thunk it?
