Hiromichi Shirakawa, chief economist at UBS Warburg Securities Co., said: "The price fall caused by the revolution in the distribution system is supposed to stop when prices reach the limit at which companies secure profits. But if price-cutting continues because of weak demand, companies will be forced to sell goods at a loss. And the price fall will become 'unfavorable."

Not being a world revered economist part I am going to address this as people places and trends .Japan had an accident part of her problem is post traumatic stress.

When i read about loss leaders as McDonalds cutting costs it is all industry slashing prices to the new tune red bottom lines are just fine. Driving force, competition between likes has become how much less can we do it for. So our free market is literally taken on a spirit of how close to costless can we go to drive everyone else out of business and hopefully at some point be the one left with all the patrons. To utilize space in slack hours is an intelligent move so, large corporations are not quite so filled with greed that I have portrayed.

Quantity of numbers and reduced cost has taken over and in consequence service the act or recognizing a human as being unique and requiring quality has to come from the private small business versus public sector more and more. A consequence of our times is we are working numerous more hours so we have limited time and yet we are laden with debt in a cost efficient structure. The choice for the industry has became cost aware not people aware. In house control moved into out sourcing as it appeared to be less costly but it lacked the feed back of in house so accurate assessment was rather clouded.

We are losing diversity part due to technology at the retail end of sales. Man has a desire to be unique which is getting lost somewhere in cost cutting and this to is part of less sales. Unique frequently stems from poverty where it does require great innovation to bud forth to solve the problem. . Our world is filled with from one end to the other with like products lacking unique for the mass, holding down cost but human beings are not alike, other than from a mechanical point of view.

Inflation I feel in Ca at least where the hourly rate is median of 18.50 and the housing cost is way beyond that rate, has a dampened many desires. Wealth floating on poverty when poverty the Mother of innovation stems from need, doesn’t seem to work when forced with dollars.
