No doubt about it - we need an energy policy!

Well, I think Bush is intent on doing something significant in that regard. If my sources are accurate, then the first part of spring we'll see a major energy summit occurring, and this may include bringing back subsidies on developing alternative fuels.

Oil independence is a major national security issue, imo. The Clinton/Gore administration has left the US energy industry castrated and our nation vulnerable to energy extortion.

We're now some 20% more dependent upon foreign oil than we were in the 1970's. We've been forced into fighting a war in the middle east over oil. We're in a situation where we're dependent on receiving 1 million barrels per day of oil from a nation we're supposed to be "containing", Iraq..

Energy is the ultimate guarantor of peace. Without it, there will be war.
