>> But I am pretty curious how long the market will pay 30x

I think it could go on for a while (due to expected rate cuts), but without p/e expansion. So I think (and hope) it will be a sideways trading market for a year or two.

Gene: I have been talking to people who have been doing tax loss selling of individual stocks but holding on to their mutual funds. They had gains and losses on stocks and wanted to come out flat for tax purposes. But the interesting thing here is that many plan to SELL their mutual funds in January. They don't want so much exposure to the market and they have gains in mutual funds they want to cash out. We could have big redemptions in January, combined with a lack of bonus money flowing into the market, due to a lack of bonuses, and a slew of new earnings warnings and soft economic indicators. January could be a disappointment for those waiting for a rally.
