US Nov/Help-Wanted Index -2: Down Vs 85 Year Ago

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A decline in the volume of help-wanted advertising in the nation's newspapers indicates that the U.S. labor market continued to weaken in November, according to the Conference Board's Help-Wanted Advertising Index.

The index fell to 75 in November from 79 in October. The index was at 85 a year ago.

The Conference Board said that over the past six months, help-wanted advertising declined in seven regions of the country, led by an 8.1% decline in the West South Central region and a 7.5% decline in the Rocky Mountain region.

The only reported increases in advertising activity were in New England, where advertising increased by 12.1%, and the Mid-Atlantic region, which saw a 1% increase.

"The labor market heads into the new year with much less momentum than a year ago," said Conference Board economist Ken Goldstein,

He attributed slower job growth in part to a slower economy, but also said it reflects that some industries have begun to accept the dearth of available workers.

Hey Contractions are good for banks no? That means rates will go down. If the level goes even lower the FED will have to lower rates. That means JNPR/SCMR/BRCM will all go up because lower rates are good for stocks.

Who cares if all these companies go bankrupt! Rates will go down!!!!!!! YIPEEEEE
